Birds and other animals
I also had a lot of fun taking pictures of the birds. Most of the pictures were taken right on our little arm of the lake, right in front of our motorhome on the water or in the trees. Every afternoon the ducks came to rest in the shade on the grass. They didn't mind us very much. The turtles came out to sun on the low branches, except on the weekend when the lake was too busy for them. The Canada Geese swam by several times a day (shouldn't they be going north?). Mockingbirds were constant, as were the grackles. I normally don't like grackles, but I had fun watching the babies who were almost as large as their parents beg for food. A shallow pool of water right was a favorite bathing area for all manner of birds. Two varieties of herons found the shallow water perfect for fishing.
